Outreach Hours - During Terms 3 & 4, CCMH students participate in a variety of outreach opportunities that offer exciting, Off-Campus Experiences. Currently these opportunities include: Sports Outreach in an exciting athletic environment, students will be treating varsity athletes who are in training and competing in various sports. This outreach is an excellent first step for those massage therapy students who wish to specialize in this field. The focus will be on strains and athletic-related injuries.

Our students also have an opportunity to select our Extended Care Facility Outreach, treating clients experiencing a variety of chronic health conditions, including motor vehicle accident injury.

The Nova Scotia Hospital's Addictions Recovery Outreach has our students working with in-patients to provide relief from symptoms associated with their rehabilitation.  In conjunction with Dalhousie University's Department of Health Science, we have undertaken a research project at the Hospital with participants drawn from the Detox. Unit's client group.

Short term Outreach Events provide additional practical learning experiences.  CCMH students provide care to participants of the Bluenose International Marathon, the MS Bike Tour, the National Canoe Championship and workplace wellness events, such as the Symphony Nova Scotia's practice sessions, where our students learn more about the various conditions suffered by musicians, mainly repetitive strain/overuse injuries.
