Canada-wide Study of Massage Therapy
A recent Ipsos Reid survey, “Complementary and Alternative Medicine in Canada: Trends in Use and Public Attitudes, 1997 – 2006”, showed that Canadians’ use of massage therapy outranked both chiropractic care and acupuncture as alternative treatments.

Do you Qualify for a Scholarship?
The Cory Mintz Scholarship Fund is awarded annually to a new enrollee at CCMH or WCCMT who has demonstrated leadership qualities through past dedication to activities in his or her community.

How are we better than other Colleges?

CCMH is the oldest massage therapy college in Canada (1946). We are part of a family of colleges from coast to coast, and students can transfer among six campuses. Our results from the latest certification exams has CCMH among the HIGHEST of all massage therapy schools. Our instructors are hand picked for both their knowledge & practical experience- they serve as mentors as well as teachers. We feel personally responsible for each student and have put in place a tutorial program to ensure success. Our graduates enjoy a great reputaion and high employment rates upon successful completion of the program. Students can qualify as Personal Trainers and be certified throughout Canada. We have transfer credit agreements with Athabasca University (BSc in Human Sciences) and the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, (Bachelor of Science of Kinesiology) No cost parking is available within walking distance. The default rate for student loans is among the lowest.

How long are the programs?

Our program in Massage Therapy can be taken over 2 years (August start) or 18 months (January start). The program itself represents 2280 credit hours of education. Our online/on-campus program takes 3 years to complete and begins in March.

When do they start?

There are two starts for our program in Massage Therapy: early January and late August. Our online/on campus program begins in March.

What is the tuition cost for the program?

The tuition fees for the full program amounts to $15,000 total. This is usually remitted in four payments. There are also fees for text books, supplies and equipment, including a professional massage table, amounting to approximately $3,000 for the full program.

Is your college approved for Nova Scotia Student Assistance funding?

Yes students can apply to Nova Scotia Student Assistance. We are also approved for CSL (Canada Student Loans). For additional information please see our student finance page.

Do you have on-line courses?

Yes. We offer an online/on campus blended program. Please contact our Director of Admissions dawn@collegeofmassage.com or our Director of Distance Education jenns@collegeofmassage.com for more information.

What are the admission requirements/pre-requisites?

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a Grade 12 Secondary School Diploma or its equivalent. Along with these academic requirements students must take an Introduction to Massage course. For additional information please see our Requirements page.

What if I don't meet/have the requirements?

Our recommendation is that you meet with our admissions representative to discuss this. The College does run preparatory courses for students who do not meet the admissions criteria.

What cities are your campuses located in?

The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy has campuses in Toronto, Cambridge, Halifax and Calgary.

Do you have campus tours?

Yes, when you contact our Admissions representative, you can arrange for your personal tour.

Is the profession saturated?

No, most of our graduates are very successful.

What supplies are included with the tuition?

Supplies which are usually included are sheets, towels, blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, and clinic shirts

Do you have on-site accommodations?

No, but our Admission's staff can assist you with this need.

Are there any additional costs?

Costs for First Aid and CPR classes as well as textbooks, supplies and equipment are the responsibility of the student.

When should I send in my application?

As soon as possible, to ensure space in the program. We accept qualified applicants on a first come-first served basis throughout the year.

What are the deadlines?

There are no specific deadlines, applications are reviewed as they are received; however spaces are assigned as students are accepted. It is advisable to apply early to ensure a space.

Are there language skills pre-requisites for the program?

Applicants whose first language is not English may be required to submit TOEFL scores prior to acceptance. Such students must score at least 570 on the TOEFL test and at least 5 on the TWE (test of written English); or a minimum score of 600 on the TOEFL without TWE.

What about salary expectations?

This depends on where you work. In general, Massage Therapists earn above average incomes. In addition, job satisfaction is extremely high with great opportunites for self-employment.
