The Global Spa Summit – Being Part of the Big Picture
| |
WCCMT attended the Global Spa Summit at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York on May 18 - 20, 2008. This second annual groundbreaking event was attended by over 200 leaders and visionaries committed to furthering the future of the spa and wellness industry worldwide. It featured the release of the first ever Global Spa Economy 2007 Report. Visit our website under the announcements section for the highlights of this report.
Apart from keeping our finger on the global pulse of the industry and staying informed and connected at the global level, we also forged some great new partnerships that will open some exciting new pathways for our grads. These include access to the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology's new Masters of Wellness program and access to the University of Houston’s Masters of Hotel and Restaurant Management.
WCCMT grads seeking entry into RMIT’s Masters of Wellness program can do so in two ways. They can apply to RMIT upon successful completion of a Bachelor of Health Science degree through Thompson Rivers University or they can apply directly to RMIT upon graduation from WCCMT and successfully complete their certificate and diploma programs prior to applying to the Master of Wellness program.
WCCMT grads can access entry into the University of Houston’s Masters in Hotel and Restaurant Management program by applying directly to the University of Houston upon completion of the Bachelor of Health Science degree through Thompson Rivers University. Dr. Carl Boger, Associate Dean of Academic Programs, will be visiting WCCMT on September 18, 2008 in order to provide us with more information on this exciting new pathway to a future in one of the most dynamic sectors of the spa industry worldwide.
