Why WCCMT?
Established in 1983 the West Coast College of Massage Therapy was the first and founding college of massage therapy education and training in British Columbia. Fully accredited with the Private Career Training Institutions Agency of British Columbia and the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia, WCCMT is known and renown nationally, North America wide and internationally for excellence in massage therapy education.
The founders of medically-based massage in British Columbia, WCCMT played a formative role in the development of Registered Massage Therapy curriculum in British Columbia. In addition to the college's role in curriculum development, WCCMT’s instructional faculty has also contributed to the development of the body of knowledge of the profession through their publication of textbooks in ethics, clinical assessment and joint mobilization.
WCCMT has been recognized by, and or received awards from, the Financial Post, the Canadian Council of Massage Therapy Schools, the City of New Westminster in British Columbia, Friends for Life Society and the Multiple Sclerosis Society of British Columbia.
In June of 2006 WCCMT added a new milestone accomplishment to its long list of credits with its innovative articulation agreement with Thompson Rivers University. For the first time ever in the history of massage therapy, massage therapists are able to receive essentially three years transfer credit towards degree completion at Thompson Rivers University (Bachelor of Health Science degree).
At the West Coast College of Massage Therapy, we are proud to offer you the best choice in massage therapy education.
